Tetractys
|
Brother Ted Berry is expermenting with an interesting style.
If you are a Scottish Rite member, you
will be familiar with the Tetractys of Pythagoras. If not, or as
a reminder, it is a symbol made up of 55 points, arranged in a pyramid
of ten lines as follows:

Brother Berry writes, "In this one [G] I cheated a little bit and used three words to fill my ninth "rung." But I guess since I am making up the rules for this format, I can do whatever I like. I liken this to traditional origami that only folds a single sheet of paper without tearing or cutting it. There are also origami practitioners who cut, tear and use multiple sheets of paper."
Brother Geoff Fox writes: "I was intrigued with Bro. Ted Berry's "The Tetractys 'G'." He inspired me to have an attempt at this unusual poetry form. It is not easy! But well worth attempting. The mind contorting and dictionary referencing was enough to give you a headache! I enjoyed it immensely. Thanks Bro. Berry for the inspiration. I have inverted the triangle for something a little different again."
